St Kilda West

Melbourne federation.jpg

I have been exploring the streets of St Kilda West and Middle Park. Here are some examples of the homes and landmarks to be found in this corner of the world.

In quiet streets lined with plane trees, one or two blocks from the bay, on compact plots, side by side with similar well-kept homes, there is much to admire.

My eye is drawn to the wonderful details of the gables and rooves which seem to draw inspiration from elizabethan and medieval fantasy with some homes displaying dragons peering down in terracotta splendour.
